Kid Room #2- Pottery Barn Kids Inspired Nursery Knock Off

mroom2

Mason’s room.  When I started looking for bedding for Mason I looked for a room with a classic, clean feel.  I didn’t want anything super babyish because we needed his room to serve as a guest room also. Here it is: Before and after:  Yeah, those orange walls were nasty! (picture on the right by Courtney Miller Photography). I found my inspiration from a Pottery Barn Kids catalog.                             Here is a picture of the in between (Asa’s nursery) Here’s a fuller picture of the one above […]

The House: Office and Kitchen

Kitchen1

Happy Monday! It has been a long week. We have had a fair amount of showings for the house. Can I just say, it’s exhausting getting the house ready before every showing! Making sure everything is “just so” with two little boys in the house can be trying.  But I’m praising Jesus that people are coming through! So I promised more before and after pictures.  Well, here they are! This is the office space before (when we bought the house-the one on the left) and during is on the right.  We used that table for games and small dinners for […]

*Whew* and We’re Back!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA for the last month.  It has been crazy!  I have wanted to blog so badly but I haven’t had the time.  Last month we decided to put our house one the market.  An awesome plan, except we had SO much work to do on the house before we could list it.  It has felt like every spare moment has been spent scouring Craigslist, making Home Depot and Lowes runs, and doing work on the house.  We have been eating simple meals, staying up too late and physically draining ourselves to get the house […]

Awesome Craigslist Find!

Greg and I will have been married 8 years in March. Up until December 2011, we had never bought a couch.  When we first got married we were given 20 year old couches that we bought slipcovers for and used for a few years.  We then were given couches by a friend from work and used those for another few years. After my dad sold his house, he offered his couches to my brother and myself.  I didn’t want them, but my brother did.  So we made a compromise.  While my brother didn’t have his own place and a need […]

Do you Use Craigslist?

I love Craigslist.  I have been using it *almost* since being back in Albuquerque.  I think it really started (kicked into high gear anyway) for me when we moved into our first rental house and continued after we moved into our own. We have had so much success on Craigslist it has been just great.  While I have some complaints (people spamming the site, etc.), the only MAJOR drawback was having to click on EVERY SINGLE LISTING I wanted to look at and then go back and find a new one to look at.  A long time ago I made […]
