School Lunch: Field Trip Disposable Monster Bento Lunch

Field Trip: Disposable School Lunch Monster Lunch partiesandpottytraining.com

Asa had a field trip last week and needed a disposable lunch. I decided to go with a monster theme since it’s October and, well, who doesn’t love a cute monster?     I used a strawberry clamshell to pack his lunch and wrapped it with card stock. I used my Silhouette machine to cut the teeth out and attached eyes for the monsters face.   In his lunch I sent a “Ghost” PB&J sandwich, Carrots, TJ’s chocolate pretzel, Hummus, Annie’s Organic Bunny Crackers, Grapes (In a Wexy bag), Annie’s Organic pretzels (other Wexy Bag) and Frankin-occoli.    For the […]

I L-O-V-E Panini’s!

DSC_8390

So I’m pretty sure I have committed the cardinal sin of food blogging.  I forgot to get an amazing after picture!  I apologize up front for being so lame.  I had a lunch meeting with some wedding coordinators from church and we had panini’s.  Since I was hungry and we were only half hazardly documenting the process with pictures, I will have to rely on your imaginations and the pictures I did get. I happened to come across these panini’s a few years ago.  My mom brought me a sandwich from her friends house that had meat (turkey or roast […]

Totally Awesome Toddler Food Fun

DSC_8402

I may or may not have an obsession.  It depends who you ask.  I kind of have a crazy love for cute, but practical, food accessories.  Actually- it’s not a “kind of” love- but a head over heels, total junky needs to go to rehab love (if you ask my hubby anyway). I love bentos.  I have for a few years- like before Asa turned one because it wasn’t huge in the USA yet and I was looking everywhere to find adorable food picks and rice molds.  In particular, I love C-U-T-E bentos. A great Americanized version is Muffin Tin Meals– […]

How Do I Make A Monthly Menu? On My HUGE Wall Calendar!

DSC_8225

Back in September I came up with an idea for keeping our monthly calendar/menu in an easily accessible place that I didn’t have to hunt down in order to view.  I figured we could paint a ginormous square on our wall with chalkboard paint and create a monthly calendar.  It worked great for the first month, but since we were using chalkboard pens, it didn’t erase at the end of the month 🙁 So onto plan B.  We mounted plywood on the wall and adhered black contact paper to it (After wiping it down really well so there wouldn’t be […]

Ode to Fondue – Our family fondue recipe.

QUA19

Oh fondue, how I love you! We first met many years ago, a family tradition on Christmas Eve. My love for you has never wained, and I have learned much about your ways as time has passed. Discovering your many varieties has only made my heart grow fonder. The cheese, the broth, the chocolate.  You tease me so. The original family still remains a favorite. We love to share with friends and family, a perfect one pot meal. Oh fondue, how I love you! Recipe: 1 clove of garlic- halved 1 bottle of the cheapest beer you can stand to […]

My Quest!

WS Pumpkin Streusel

I don’t generally think of myself as OCD.  One only has to visit my house when we don’t have guests coming to see that.   I do, however, have a *ahem* little bit of a stubborn streak.  Ask my husband (well…on second thought…don’t).  Anyway, he will be the first to tell you that if I can’t find something, I will tear apart the house looking for that item until I have exhausted myself, only to start the search over again after rest and refreshments.  Much like the woman who loses her coin, I too will search high and low to […]
