Superbowl Inspired Baby Shower

Superbowl Inspired Baby Shower partiesandpottytraining.com

Last January I had the honor of co-hosting a football themed baby shower for a sweet friend. She was having her first baby- a boy- and wanted pizza served at her shower. The other co-hosts and I figured that if she wanted pizza, why not do a football theme and serve other foods you would serve at a Superbowl party- with a bit of a twist? So the first thing we did was find out our friends favorite football team (the New York Giants) and used their colors as a starting point. We fashioned the initials of the babies name […]

Creamy Green Chile Chicken Soup

Creamy Green Chile Chicken Soup from partiesandpottytraining.com; photography by Jasmine Nicole Photography

Perfect for fall and full of warm creamy deliciousness is this little gem my husband and I came up with last year. Green Chile Stew is not hard to come by in New Mexico, but finding a creamy soup with green chile for those brisk fall and winter nights is a little more difficult.  I can think of only a handful of restaurants in town that serve a creamy version of soup and honestly, I just don’t want to pack up three kids and pay money for what we can make at home. Once again these pictures are from the […]

First Day of Kindergarten Planetbox Lunch

mail-7

My oldest started kindergarten yesterday and we sent him to school with a healthy, whole foods packed lunch- in his Planetbox. It was definitely a bittersweet day but we are so excited to see what God has in store for our little man! On to the lunch now. I love Planetbox! Let me say it again. I. LOVE. Planetbox. For real. It is so stinking amazing. When my oldest started preschool (at the ripe old age of 2) he needed a great lunchbox. I researched A LOT before buying anything. I wanted something that would be durable, dishwasher safe, good […]

Tuesday Recipe Freezer Lasagna

Freezer Lasagna

Today I have for you a homemade lasagna that is a great freezer meal. I first got this recipe back in July of 2008. A friend of ours (hi Sandra!) made it for us and it was di-vine. I mean really. What’s not to love about diced tomatoes perfectly seasoned squished between soft noodles and copious amounts of cheese? The great thing about this recipe is it is SO easy to double. Not only that, it freezes beautifully! So if you need to take someone a meal or just don’t want to cook, this is a great meal to have […]

A Birth, Birthdays, Weddings, Move, House and Graduations

Salad

A lot has happened since my last post. A LOT. As you know, we sold our house last summer. God told us to so we did. We ended up renting for about 10 months from my mom to save a down payment (with help from my mom-thanks mom!) and find a house in the area we wanted to be in. Well, we found a great little ranch style house in THE neighborhood we wanted  back in February and closed in March. We ended up doing some cosmetic work before moving in so we didn’t move in until April. By that […]

12 Days of Christmas and Other Fun Things

Homemade Christmas Advent Calendar

This year I thought it would be crazy  fun to do a “12 Days of Christmas” for my incredible hubby.  He’s been working so hard for our family and taking care of us all, I wanted to do something to show him how much I love him and what he means to me. So Tuesday night I wrapped everything/finished creating things, and put it under the tree. (Need some ideas or an explanation? Check out Passionate Homemaking.) Today was the first day. He opened his gift this morning. On the 1st day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… […]
