Cool Stuff

What’s up New Mexico?!

It’s been a long night, but I thought I would write a quick post for the morning.  I’m curious if anyone has any ideas for things to do between January and April-ish.  I have all kinds of fun things to do from April-December (family outings, festivals, etc.), but I’ve been seriously lacking here the last few years to find fun stuff to do that won’t be too cold.  If you have any fun ideas, I would love to hear them (and so would these guys!)   Tweet

Must See Movies for 2012

Earlier this week I got to go see “Sherlock Holmes” with my hubby. Yeah, he loves me. Since we rarely go to the movies (read- I can’t hear them), we have to plan ahead if there is one we want to see.  There is a movie theatre here in town that plays movies with open captions, but it is a limited viewing time (usually three days with two different showings a day a few weeks after the release).  Hey, I’m just thankful for the option!  Most theaters don’t even offer that! So we went and saw Holmes.  I liked it. […]

Baby on Board Baby Shower (Nautical Theme)

DSC_7013

This is a shower I did in October for a friend who had a beautiful baby boy named Jude.  She mentioned wanting to do a nautical theme in his room so I figured if we made that the theme, she could use some of the props for his room afterward! I thought it would be really fun to have a yarn wreath with a twist- wrapped to look like a life preserver.  This is what came out of it. It was super easy to make.  Just get a foam wreath from Hobby Lobby or Michaels, and wrap yarn around it. […]

Anthro Inspired Woodland Forest Birthday Party for Twins and a Pixie

WoodlandParty 2011-03-19 (29)

In March of 2011 my friend Tish asked me to help her do a birthday party for her adorable twins girls that were turning 2, and their friend, another adorable girl who was also turning 2.  In return she would give me some photo sessions.  Well, considering that she is an awesome photographer, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse!  (You can check out her stuff here.)  We set up a meeting to discuss what the party would look like.  At the meeting was Kim, cake decorator extraordinaire, and Parr, mommy to Kennedy and an amazing artist in her own […]

Ode to Fondue – Our family fondue recipe.

QUA19

Oh fondue, how I love you! We first met many years ago, a family tradition on Christmas Eve. My love for you has never wained, and I have learned much about your ways as time has passed. Discovering your many varieties has only made my heart grow fonder. The cheese, the broth, the chocolate.  You tease me so. The original family still remains a favorite. We love to share with friends and family, a perfect one pot meal. Oh fondue, how I love you! Recipe: 1 clove of garlic- halved 1 bottle of the cheapest beer you can stand to […]

Wicked Update

Friday night Greg and I went to see Wicked.  As I mentioned in my last post, I have been waiting 6 years to see it.  The night started out great.  My mom came to watch Asa, Greg whisked me off to Zinc and we had a nice dinner (review coming soon).  We then went to Popejoy and had to fight the crazy parking garage and the people in it (actually, getting there wasn’t too bad, it was getting out that was a nightmare).  After parking ($7! Whaa!) we went into the theatre and got the headsets for the show. Now, […]
