Albuquerque, NM Graduation Dinner Party: Black, White and Gold

Re-Train 77

A modern black, white and gold dinner party we had this summer for a graduation party here in Albuquerque. I love hosting dinner parties, so when my husband suggested throwing a dinner party for some recent graduates of a training program at our church, I jumped at the chance. There is nothing like throwing a sit down dinner on a summer evening being surrounded by friends eating good food. My friend Latisha, of Latisha Lyn Photography, had mentioned to me awhile back about wanting to do a styled shoot using black, white and gold. I decided this would be the […]

St Patrick’s Day Engagement Styled Shoot

Photography By Jasmine Nicole Photography/ Table Styled and Coordinated by Shannon Qualls/ Flowers by Amy Balsers at Amy Does Flowers

Since things are finally slowing down a bit here I can get caught up on posting some seriously fun events. Back in February my girlie friend Jasmine, from Jasmine Nicole Photography, approached me about wanting to do a styled shoot for St. Patrick’s Day. Of course I said yes but it was one of those things that, if it was going to happen, it would have to be fast! So we met to talk about what she was thinking, started a Pinterest board and began contacting vendors and models. All in all, I think concept to execution was something like […]

A few weeks ago a friend of mine, Jasmine from Jasmine Nicole Photography, asked if I would be interested in doing a styled shoot with her (she a crazy good photographer). I was so excited to be asked (and a little nervous about screwing it up). Anyway, she let me know what she was thinking of doing and we met to discuss details.  Hopefully I will have pictures to show you all, but until then, you can check out the St. Patrick’s Day Inspired Shoot over on Ruffled Blog or on Jasmine’s blog. Advent Christmas Decor

Christmas Tree

Back in November one of the Pastor’s at my church (Mars Hill Church in Albuquerque) approached me about heading up the Advent decor.  I was honored, and humbled, and a little nervous too.  I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do it because I was having surgery and didn’t know how it would go.  Greg and I prayed, and we felt like God said WE should do it.  So we said yes, with the understanding that I might be limited in what I could do.  God graciously provided help in the form of interns (you guys are bomb!) […]

This is bad, this is really really bad…A Truly Patriotic Holiday – 4th of July Party from LAST Year

DSCN0319

For the Fourth of July (2009), my friend asked me for help throwing her annual Fourth of July party.  As a party enthusiast, I was more then happy to oblige.  I researched for a few weeks, scouring the internet for ideas on food and decor and came up with these ideas.  She has triplets and they helped with all of the decorating of the cookies and creation of some food items.  It was great. One thing I find really helpful is when I find an idea or recipe that I love, I print it out and put it in an […]
