A Vintage/Anthropologie Inspired Little Man Baby Shower

Fox Cake

I’m excited to share this vintage, Anthropologie, little man inspired baby shower with you all today! Back in April a sweet friend of mine was going to be having a baby boy. I wanted to help plan/style the party. Since Tish (my friend) is a lover of all things eclectic, and is a photographer, it made sense to combine the two loves and create this dessert table. We wanted to bring an indoor nursery outside and created a faux wall to help feature the desserts. We used family pictures, art, “G’ for baby Greyson, and a DIY deer head (my [...]

Bekah’s “She’s News to the World” Baby Shower

Bekahsshower3

Back in September (2011-yeah, I’m getting caught up baby!), my friends and I hosted a baby shower for our friend Bekah.  After sitting down one night and brainstorming, we decided to do a newspaper themed shower.  Since papers are black and white (well, sort of) we decided the accent color would be hot pink (Bekah is a girlie girl and was a having a girl so it made sense!) Here is a shot of the table.  We served brunch. Pinterest was our friend with this shower! For the backdrop my husband designed a mock newspaper.  We used a picture of [...]

Robot Baby Shower (Because I sort of failed to post these in 2010…)

Robot Dessert Table

This was the 3rd dessert table/full on party I ever did (with the help of my girl Ofelia and a ton of other women from church).  I had planned on posting these a year and a half ago but never got around to it.  Lisa (the mom-of-honor) wanted robots so we gave her robots.  We did a gray and yellow color scheme that was similar to what they were doing for the nursery.   For the food we served a build your own crepe bar as well as croissants, deli meats, bacon (because every party needs bacon- can I get [...]

Baby on Board Baby Shower (Nautical Theme)

DSC_7013

This is a shower I did in October for a friend who had a beautiful baby boy named Jude.  She mentioned wanting to do a nautical theme in his room so I figured if we made that the theme, she could use some of the props for his room afterward! I thought it would be really fun to have a yarn wreath with a twist- wrapped to look like a life preserver.  This is what came out of it. It was super easy to make.  Just get a foam wreath from Hobby Lobby or Michaels, and wrap yarn around it. [...]

The BEST baby shower gift for 1st time mommies

IMG_3133-1

A little over 2 1/2 years ago Greg and I welcomed Asa into the world.  He has been a joy and a wonderful addition to our family.  A few months before he was born a friend threw a baby shower for me and we were fortunate to have many friends and family shower us with gifts.  Everything from diapers and wipes to clothes to highchairs and a car seat/stroller combo were included in the gifts that were graciously provided for us. If I remember right, every one of those gifts was used and cherished in its time.  There is one [...]

Chic Robot Baby Shower

MShower100

My girl Lisa is having a baby and I was so excited when I found out!  She is due any day now and I offered to throw her a baby shower.  She accepted and told me that she wanted a ‘Vintage Robot Baby Shower’.  I loved the idea, but put a little spin on it.  I choose to use white as a bade color and yellow and gray as the accents.  I’m not sure how ‘vintagey’ (is that even a word?) it came out, but I was super happy with it!  For sure it was chic! Each place setting had [...]
