I’m not super proud of how late I am in posting this…but I still think it was a fun party! Last *ahem* February, I asked some of my friends if anyone was interested in me helping them throw a party for their little one. At the time I was wanting to build up my portfolio so I could start a party planning business, but that has since fallen to the way-side (fear not! I still plan on doing parties, and my new business venture is in that realm…muhahah…I just don’t want to HAVE TO do it).
Well, one of my friends son’s was getting ready to turn three and offered to let me
take over decorate and plan the food for the party. Since she didn’t care what kind of party it was, I asked what her son was into. At the time it was planes and guns. After brainstorming some, I came up with a Top Gun party. What better way to marry guns and planes?!
We set up a food table and a dessert table. For food we grilled and served burgers and hot dogs, chips and dip, fruit and veggies in cups. I made a birthday banner using my Silhouette that we strung over the food table.
For drinks we served bottled water (we made personalized labels) and strawberry lemonade.
For the dessert table, my awesome hubby created the background (picture in detail at the top). We served “Great Balls of Fire” Cake Pops, “Bogey” Jello Cups, “Need for Speed” Cookies, Marshmallows Dipped in Chocolate, Rice Crispy Treats, Chocolate Planes and Cake.
