I love reading. It is awesome. The biggest problem I have though, is finding time to read. Really, I’m not a marathon reader. I’m more of a sprint reader. I like to sit down for six or seven hours (depending on the book length) and read it from start to finish. Since having kids this has proved challenging (who would have thought?).
I want to read 24 books this year (more is fine, but I want to set a goal that I can work toward). That means I need to read 2 books a month. One fiction, and one none fiction. Here is my list:
January: The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber and The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien (I have read this before, but I want to get ready for the movie coming out in December!!! Whoo Hoo!!!)
February: Real Marriage by Mark and Grace Driscoll and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
March: Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson and The Help by Kathryn Stockett
April: Don’t Make Me Count to Three by Ginger Plowman and Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp (I’m going to count them as one- I need a refresher!) and Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling (I’ve been feeling the need to read them again!
May: How People Change by Timothy S. Lane and Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
June: 48 Days to the Work You Love by Dan Miller and Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
July: Humility True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney and At the Scent of Water by Linda Nichols
August: Engaging with the Holy Spirit, Real Questions, Practical Answers by Graham A. Cole and TBD
September: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Relationships Roles and Relevance by Bruce Ware and TBD
October: 5 Essays from Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood Edited by John Piper and Wayne Grudem and TBD
November: Community by Brad House and TBD
December:
Katharina Von Bora: A Reformation Life and TBD
What are you reading this year?
